Jill Nanne, President

An expat life is an adventure and I have enjoyed mine since moving to SE Asia in 2010!  My husband and I have called KL home since the fall of 2016. The AAM is a great way to have fun and give back, to make new friends, and to enjoy that "home away from home" feeling. I look forward to sharing my next Malaysian adventure with you as President of AAM.  I hope to meet you at our next event!

KL is my first time living outside the US and it has been quite the adventure!  My husband and I have been here since February of 2018 and we have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to explore ‘this side of the world’.  I’m very excited to join the AAM as Vice President and I look forward to exploring this city and country we call home with y’all!

Meredith Tomkovitch, treasurer

I  have been living in KL since September 2016, moving from Abu Dhabi and Tokyo previously. Originally from upstate New York, I joined AAM to meet new people and learn everything I can about my new home.

Suzanne Roe, Secretary

I  joined the AAM to find out more about KL and meet new people. I love to hear everyone’s stories, their travels and what they love most about KL. Malaysia is a fabulous place to live and getting involved with the AAM gives me an American Community where people just understand the little things that I occasionally miss about home. I look forward to meeting you at one of our many upcoming events!

Shelby Raaj, Digital Media Director

I have lived in Malaysia since June 2017. I joined the AAM a few months after moving here. I loved seeing all the diversity among the members. Being a part of the association has helped me meet people I might not have met on my own. I am very excited to give back to the association by being the Digital Media Director!

LIzzie Gomes, Events Director

My husband’s job moved us to KL from Houston in December 2017. This was our first overseas assignment as a couple, so making connections and getting involved in my new home was important to me. When I first heard about AAM, I loved that the organizations goals are not only aimed at bringing Americans together, but are also largely on cultivating a better Malaysia through charitable work. Being apart of AAM has a been so beneficial in helping me adjust to a new life abroad. I’m looking forward to a fun year ahead and meeting you at one of our many upcoming events!

Home away from home!

We have lived in Malaysia just over 10 years, and it is our priority to feel home where we are. Joined AAM as its members is really helpful to feel home, especially with all the events.

I intend to make you feel home and knowing that you have a family away from home.

Miche joined American Association of Malaysia in January 2019 together with her husband, Michael Scott. As an expat, establishing connection and creating a purposeful goal can be challenging. AAM provides social and charitable opportunities to foster a sense of belongingness. Malaysia is a wonderful place to explore, from its diverse culture to its hidden gems and exciting food scene. She is a traveler, a soap artisan and a Beagle Mommy.
